It was a leap of faith, but one we were ready to take. In 2021, my wife and I left behind our lives on the East Coast and headed to Texas, ready to put down roots
and create a future for our family here.
Starting over in DFW was a huge undertaking, but I had already done it before. In 2016 I left San Diego where I’d lived my entire life and moved to Maryland to be closer to my brother who was stationed out there. With no connections, sports was how I started meeting people. Since I was a young kid, I’ve always played sports, including water polo, swimming, soccer, and volleyball. It was a great way to have fun and meet people with similar interests.
During that time, I also decided to earn my real estate license, something I’d been interested in for a long time. My dad and I even planned to take real estate classes back when I graduated high school, but life got busy. In starting over, I finally had the time to think about what I really wanted out of life.

My background included sales, customer service, bartending, and even managing UPS stores. I’ve done a bit of everything and know how to work well with people. Those experiences have proven invaluable in real estate, where I am constantly wearing different hats, from counselor to project manager to contract negotiator. Real estate is so fulfilling to me because it is constant problem-solving to help people through some of the biggest decisions of their lives. I truly love what I do.
While in Maryland, I met my wife, Joxi. We fell in love and started searching for the right community to settle down and raise our family. She’s from Venezuela and being from California, we both agreed on wanting more of a West-Coast feel. I’d spent some summers in Texas, and after visiting again, we knew we’d found our home.
When we arrived in DFW, I knew the importance of getting involved right away. I joined a sand volleyball club, played indoor soccer, and got active in our local church, joining their softball team too. One of the best parts about what I do is that I get to focus on making friends first, and naturally through that, can build my business through trust and relationships.
In my first year in DFW, I closed 19 sales, even though I started partway through the year. I built a small but dedicated team, and together we are recognized as the Best Real Estate Group in DFW, even beating out much larger teams. I have a reputation for creative deal-making and strong negotiations, truly protecting my clients’ best interests while also finding unique ways to make a deal work for everyone.

Our lives continued to grow here, having two sons, Xavier (4) and Tobias (1). Becoming a dad has only deepened my purpose and the connection I feel to helping other families just like ours. Because of my career, I can be very involved and even coached Xavier’s soccer team for 4 seasons. It’s so important to make time for the things that matter most, and I’m very grateful I get to do that.
Starting over—twice—has given me the chance to build my life around what matters most: family, relationships, community, and a fulfilling career. I know what it’s like to relocate, to have a growing family, and to find that community that really feels like home. Real estate is personal for me. Of course, the numbers matter, but they’re only part of the story. We fell in love with this community, and I love helping clients find the neighborhoods and lifestyles that fit them best here.
I also get to share what makes this area special as the host of American Dream TV DFW, where I spotlight local businesses and hidden gems. It’s just another way I get to connect with people and show off the place we proudly call home.
What sets me apart in real estate is that I’m always my authentic self. Whether you are working with me professionally or know me as a friend, you get the same Dylan King. I believe that being genuine is the best way to build real relationships, and many of my clients have become friends as a result. I share my knowledge freely and always aim to help and uplift others, whether they are clients or fellow agents. Giving back and supporting those around me is a fundamental part of my approach to both business and life.
Throughout the transaction, I offer total transparency. No sugarcoating, no surprises. I set clear expectations up front and keep you in the loop every step of the way. I’m big on communication, so you’ll never be left wondering what’s happening next. I also go above and beyond with hands-on support, overseeing timelines, projects, and even providing a vetted list of contractors and vendors I trust (and many I’ve used myself). I’ll help coordinate anything you need, and even after closing, support you and offer helpful resources and recommendations. I’m a certified Real Estate Negotiation Expert, so I know how to get creative and structure deals that work for everyone involved. My goal is always to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible, and to be a resource you can count on long after the sale!
Sincerely,

Dylan King – The Bearded Realtor
